Well, It started out as just a nonsense modeling project, but it evolved into a scene.
As you (hopefully) can see itīs some sort of underwater monster, with a diver in first person perspective. Well, itīs not just one monster, itīs a few in the background as well...
I wanted the water to be really dense to give it a more claustrophobic feeling.
The motion blur on the monsters arms is to give the picture some dynamic. I envy those who can make a perfect "no blurish" image that still have movement and force in it!

The monsters and lamp are done in XSI, the "hand" is a very modified photo. The comp is as usual done in photoshop.

I Hope you like the picture.

Slim to none

This isnīt the most uplifting subject. I read somewhere that if you fall over board and the water temp + air temp is below 37 celsius, your chance of survival is very slim (unless you are rescued fast). One can think that a water temp of 15 plus an air temp of 20 is quite much, but it isnīt!
For this image I was very inspirated by the work showcased here on CGtalk, done by PLANET FX! Really cool water and "bad weather" fx!!!
It feels a bit corny to post this image after Planet FXīs top notch work, but I needed to get it out of my system
Sadly this is showing a guy drowning, he reaches for the light tunnel... I didnīt want it to be a spot light directed on him, but something more diffuse. I hope you see that poor guy in those dark waves!?
WIthout being too sentimental, take a moment to think about all the pepole who has meet their destiny in a stormy sea somewhere...
Done with XSI and photoshop.

I wanted to create something that looked like a magazine picture from a nature magazine. But instead of fur and flesh I did go for a mechanical animal
The picture is done in rhino, rendered with vray and photoshop for tuning.

Badass cyborg cliché

We have all seen him. In a game, In a b-movie, in a sci-fi comicbook. A cliché is hard to describe, but we all know it we when see it. And in this case there should be no question that he is one... I think he just needs a hug...

I used pictures of my grandpa for head reference. No, he does no have eight cameraeyes!
Base mesh and rendering in xsi. Sculpting in Zbrush, and some photoshop for tweaking.

For me it seems that the biggest danger to many super talented pepole is them selfs. How many great thinkers, artists, actors, writers etc havenīt suffered tremendously because that have been able to find a way to get along with them selfs?!
The butterfly in the glass represent those flamboyant persons with special gifts, that have caught them self in a prison of glass.
We (me), the caterpillar, looks in envy at those persons, cause we think that they are free to do what ever they want. But, in many cases they are locked up in their own glass cage, unable to fly away...

Donīt roll with your eyes now
If you donīt want to be that deep, see this image as a glass study
